More Flickr Fun

Feb. 13, 2008: More Flickr Fun
I was intrigued by Worldinpictures.org, which will find photos of just about any place you can think of. You just type in a location in a search box, and it will bring up many photos of that place!

Vultures get no respect. Here is a photo of the kind of thing we have to deal with on a routine daily basis: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pg-photography/265904002/. Sheesh, those mammals can get so cranky when all we vultures show up to their parties.

Lifelong learning

With lifespans of up to 50 years or more, vultures are amazing lifelong learners. I am a Turkey Vulture named Crusty, and I'm all about play. The only reason I've ever learned anything is to play, play, play. I enjoy soaring, not flapping and flailing all around. Those falcons that dive at speeds of over 100 mph are way too serious about life. The most difficult aspect of lifelong learning for me is using technology to my advantage. My friends or family have to teach me the new tools that I need to help me achieve my goal of playing. Sometimes I stumble across a new technology on my own. Once I was eating a carcass left by a hunter who had accidentally dropped his MP3 player inside. That was a windfall! That made my annual Costa Rica to Arizona and back migrations a breeze (literally). I could listen to my favorite books on CD as I flew. The Old Buzzard Had It Coming is one of my favorite mysteries. Now I often wonder how I ever migrated without it.
